Week One Reflection: Week 1 was the first week of preparation for the PYP exhibition. We came up with a central idea, lines of inquiry and key concepts. We also listened to a presentation by Ms. Jun about Academic Honesty. We learnt that we are not allowed to copy anything from the internet. Grade 6 also came to give us tips for the exhibition. This week, we are starting to be thinkers.
Week Two Reflection: In Week 2 , we had more guest speakers to help us in the PYP Exhibition. The guest speakers who helped us were Mr.Michael and another grade 6 group. Mr.Michael told us about the refugees who were traveling around the world for a safe place to live in.The grade 6 group was the music group. They told us about the struggles and how to solve problems in the PYP Exhibition. This week, we were attentive because we listened to the solutions of our problems. We were great this week.
Week Three Reflection: In Week 3, we had more people to help us for the PYP exhibition. Ms. Richel came to our class to help us develop our central idea and lines of inquiry. She also showed us a presentation to open our minds for the PYP Exhibition. She went to each group to help. Although we were working hard, we were quite noisy. We need to improve on focusing.
Week Four Reflection: In Week 4, Ms.Ratu and Ms.Lea came to our class to help us with the Exhibition. Ms.Ratu came to our group. She helped us with the interview questions. We also made our 'about' page on the laptop. We took pictures of ourselves for the 'about' page of our blog. Every week, we are better than the week before, and we learn more. We caught up quickly on the blog. We were great this week, but we know we will be better and smarter next week.
Week Five Reflection: In Week 5, we had a guest speaker, Indonesia's Industry Minister. His name is Mr. Airlangga Hartanto. He told us about his job and what he does as the Minister of Industry. He told us the minimum salary for workers and the fair treatments to workers. In week 5, we also made our blog better. We made improvements this week.
Week Six Reflection:In week 6, we went to a school called Tunas Muda to observe their PYP Exhibition.They showed us a presentation based on their transdiciplinary theme which is "Sharing the Planet". They talked about the problems about animals.Their booths were very interesting, and their action plan helped us on planning our action. This week, we were given tips on how to do the PYP Exhibition better. We also had another guest speaker through Skype. Her name was Attorney Grace Villanueva. She's an NGO lawyer in the Philippines. She's Ms. Corita's friend. Even though she was a consistent hour student and even graduated Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines, she chose to work for the less privileged people- the indigenous people. She talked about how they are being discriminated and how lawyers like her fight for their rights.
Week Seven Reflection: In Week 7, we had a guest speaker from KPU. They talked about UUD. It is the Indonesia constitution. They also helped us in our plan to interview Pak Sigit, and we also took a photo with them. . They talked about everything about voting that is our topic. This week we showed improvement.
Week Eight Reflection: In Week 8, On Monday, we had guest speakers again. Mr. Hamidin, Bizarro's dad, came to our school and talked to us about terrorism. Refugees from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Pakistan also visited us. They introduced themselves one by one and told their interesting stories.Two refugees went to our class. We did fun activities with them. On Tuesday, we all went on an immersion for the rest of the week. We chose between Singapore and Bali. Four of us went to Singapore and one of us went to Bali. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot.
Week Nine Reflection: In Week 9, we are very busy with the PYP Exhibition.We visited Global Jaya School to observe their PYP Exhibition.They started their PYP Exhibition with a musical performance.Their transdiciplinary theme is "Where We Are in Place and Time". They showed us how to use inventions to solve daily problems.This week, we are done researching two lines of inquiry as well as posting our field trip photos on Weebly. Now,we are almost done with the blog.
Week Ten Reflection: In Week 10, we got help from our parents for the PYP Exhibition . We were happy when parents came because we had a little problem on the research and interview . They helped us with research and the interview. This week we were serious . This week we also worked extra harder. We need some catching up to do coz we are quite behind than the rest of the groups. Ms. Corita reminded us to work on our research, and not to just copy and paste.
Week Eleven Reflection: In week 11, we had a parent mentoring session with Uncle Tiernan, Carina's dad. He helped us answer the survey that we did. We also gave the survey to grade 4&5 students and also we went to KPU (Commission on Elections) for our interview. We interviewed Mr. Arief Budiman, one of the seven commissioners in KPU. We had a meaningful experience, and we learnt a lot about KPU. This week we did more work because all of us worked together.
Week Twelve Reflection: This week we had a meting with Mr. Peter, and we talked about our action. We also had a photo session with him. It was great that Mr. Peter took time to meet us and discussed with us our concerns and worries. This week we had our bazaar. We sold Starbucks, pasta, chicken nuggets, cupcakes, nasi kucing and more. We also had games. Most of the grades 1 and 2 students played. They looked like they had fun! This week we also finished our blog pages on ATL skills, PYP attitudes and IB learner profile. We also finished our research and action page. Ms. Corita helped us a lot. We will also make our journey video. We also practiced the play for our exhibition performance with our Mandarin teachers.
Week Thirteen Reflection: This week, we feel nervous and excited at the same time because our PYP Exhibition is already next week. We are done with the blog and memorising our presentation. This week, we also finished our action which is donating to KOMNAS HAM (Komisi Nasional Hak Asasi Manusia).vWhen we went there, the staff explained what KOMNAS HAM is. They didn't accept our money, but they suggested institutions that accept donations. We also met the Commissioner of KOMNAS HAM. She offered for us to go there everyday to study more about human rights. It was a great experience in there, and we had a lot fun doing PYP Exhibition!
Week Thirteen Reflection: This week, we feel nervous and excited at the same time because our PYP Exhibition is already next week. We are done with the blog and memorising our presentation. This week, we also finished our action which is donating to KOMNAS HAM (Komisi Nasional Hak Asasi Manusia).vWhen we went there, the staff explained what KOMNAS HAM is.
